6 drug peddlers taken into preventive custody

DODA, Feb 26: Six drug peddlers were taken into preventive custody here today.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Abdul Qayoom six drug peddlers have been taken into preventive custody on the orders of Executive Magistrates from Doda and Bhaderwah towns.
These six persons have been found involved in illegal activities especially narcotic smuggling and addiction.
A detailed report of their involvement in illegal activities was prepared by local police and submitted before the Executive Magistrates who issued detention orders of all six under preventive sections of law.
They include Mubashir Hussain, son of Mohammad Sharif, resident of Basti Koti in Doda, Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohammad Saber, resident of Sikwan Doda, Reyaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hassan, resident of Sikwan Doda, Amar Usman, son of Mohd Ramzan, resident of Dhar Doda, Vishal Kotwal, son of Dalip Kotwal, resident of Nagri Doda and Irshad Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmad of Puneja Bhaderwah.
“All above mentioned drug peddlers have been lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah”, SSP informed.
A team of police under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Jaswant Singh implemented the order of preventive detention of all six drug peddlers.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said that keeping a check on illegal activities is a prime motive of Police in the district for which all necessary steps are being taken.
He appealed to the civil society in the district and especially the parents to keep a close eye on their wards as this is the first step of prevention by which innocent youth can be saved from falling in the clutches of drugs addiction.
