Srinagar, Nov 2: Six persons died today in Kashmir due to COVID-19 taking death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1493 while 251 people tested positive for Coronavirus in the Valley taking the J&K tally to 95,710.
Two among the victims from Kashmir valley were from Srinagar while one each was from Baramulla, Pulwama, Ganderbal and Kulgam respectively.
Ganderbal resident was 70-year-old man from Kangan and died at SKIMS Soura, 11 days after he was admitted to the hospital.
The victim from Baramulla was a woman from Sopore area who died at the hospital, 12 days after her admission.
Another victim from the Valley was a 63-year-old man from Shaheed Gunj in Srinagar who died at Chest Diseases Hospital in Srinagar.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 1493 in J&K including 993 in Valley.
Srinagar district with 360 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 146, Budgam 94, Pulwama 83, Kupwara 73, Anantnag 74, Kulgam 46, Bandipora 47, Shopian 35 and Ganderbal 34.
And 251 people tested positive for Coronavirus in Valley today taking the J&K tally to 95,710.
Of the total 95,710 cases, 57,616 are from Kashmir. The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 57,616 including 52,250 recoveries and 991 deaths.
The total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,080 including 4,375 from Kashmir division.
With 623 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 88,140 which is 92.09 percent of the total cases.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir include 71 from Srinagar, 16 Budgam, 69 Baramulla, 15 Pulwama, 32 Kupwara, 08 Anantnag, 12 Bandipora, 14 Ganderbal, two Kulgam and 12 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 19,592 positive cases including 360 deaths and 17,878 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,038 including 94 deaths and 5,684 recoveries are from Budgam, 6,162 including 4,622 recoveries and 146 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,700 including 4,406 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,512 including 73 deaths and 4,026 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,255 including 3,991 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,059 cases including 3,836 and 46 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,586 including 3,358 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,492 including 2,356 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,220 including 2,093 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.
Out of 2,343,543 number of samples tested, 2,247,833 were negative and 95,710 positive. Among them, 6,080 are active, 88,140 persons have recovered and 1,490 persons died.
