REASI, Oct 26: Six children among 14 Shivkhori pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh were injured when a rashly driven minibus rolled down near Pouni, here today.

The minibus bearing no. JK14D-3982 was on way from Katra to Ransoo and its driver was allegedly drunk when the accident took place this afternoon at village Malair, near Pouni. The driver was given severe thrashing by some accident victims and locals, who held him responsible for the mishap.
The injured were shifted to District Hospital Reasi where driver among four were referred to Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu for the advanced treatment.
Those referred to GMC Hospital, were identified as driver Rinku (35), son of Tej Ram of Katra, pilgrim Suriya Devi (42), wife of Ragunath Jaswal, Pushpa Verma (38), wife of Sia Ram and Ayushi Verma (12), daughter of Hem Chand.
Those undergoing treatment at District Hospital Reasi, were identified as Kuldeep Jadev (18) son of Santosh Jadev, Dina Nath Verma (35), son of Rampayre Verma, Gainmati Verma (70), wife of Ram Verma, Saraswati (6), daughter of Sumant, Meera Kumari (36) wife of Surannath, Ankankashi (10) daughter of Sahil, Manish (8), son of Randeer Yadav, Randeer (25), son of Chintarai, Maya Verma (39), wife of Prem Chand, Shubam (8), son of Nand Lal Yadav and Anshika Verma (6), daughter of Prem Chand.
All the injured belong to Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh.
Reports said that the said minibus was carrying the pilgrims illegally in it, its route permit was different. Further, the driver was also under the influence of liquor, which was main cause of accident.
Meanwhile, Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
