RAMBAN, Aug 6: Police rescued six bovine animals and arrested a smuggler.
As per police sources, a team from Ramban Police Station laid a naka near Shan Palace and intercepted a Srinagar bound Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK19-2603.
During checking, police rescued 6 bovine animals and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Mohammad Shafi, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of tehsil Banihal, district Ramban.
A case under FIR number 104/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
Police team headed by SHO Ramban Police Station Inspector Dharminder Singh Katoch made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Mattoo.
