6 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, May 17: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested two accused persons in this regard.
The bovine animals were being smuggled in a Tata Mobile vehicle (JK03G-2248), which was intercepted near Jakhani by a police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Vijay Singh Choudhary.
During checking, six bovine animals were found illegally and cruelly loaded in the said vehicle. Police rescued all the animals and arrested the driver along with his associate. They were identified as Roshan Din, son of Ghulam Nabi of Jammu and Shabir Ahmed Khan, son of Bashir Ahmed Khan of Kulgam.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR number 199/2020, U/S 188 IPC,11PCA Act at PS Udhampur.
