Sir,
Grant of the package was construed as a symbol of true welfarism and realisation of the woes of the millions of people who got displaced during 1947, 65 and 1971 in highly catastrophic circumstances. The process adopted for payment to the families concerned, appears and virtually is, totally bereft of any human sympathy for these distressed souls. Perhaps, this is the reason, till today, not even half of the beneficiaries have been cleared. It is very saddening scenario that even okeyed and brought on internet files aren’t being finalised promptly. Completion of a file is itself a time consuming process and involvement of fat payments, is a undeniable fact. But, what is happening at the PRO’s office, leading to abnormal delay in finalising the cases is beyond comprehension. The authorities on whom the onus of disbursement lies, are requested to accelerate the process, so that the families concerned are paid without further delay. Perhaps, seventy years since the displacement of these unfortunates from their native lands, where their ancestors had been living for centuries, isn’t weighed and considered seriously and sympathetically.
Yours etc…
