Full dress rehearsal for R-Day celebration held across Kashmi

SRINAGAR, JANUARY : In connection with celebration of 69th Republic-Day, full dress rehearsals were held in all the district headquarters of Kashmir valley on Tuesday.

At Srinagar, full dress rehearsal was held at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in which Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade and took the salute at the march past.

Additional Director General of Police Muneer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Central) Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Imtiyaz Ahmad Parray, Joint Director Information Zahoor Ahmad Mir besides senior officers of civil administration, Police Department and other concerned were present on the occasion.

The march past was presented by contingents of J&K Police, JK Armed Police, Border Security Force, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, Women Police, State Disaster Response Force, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC cadets and students.

On the occasion, various colourful cultural programmes including traditional folk songs of Kashmiri, Dogri & Ladakhi were presented by students from different educational institutions in joint collaboration of Department of Information & Public Relations, Education, Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, and Youth Services & Sports.

On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir said that the venue of the Republic day celebration is shifted to SK Stadium due to the necessary renovation work going on at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar.

 “For the first time, three PAWAN HANS helicopters will be utilized for showering of flower petals on the venue of Republic Day at SK Stadium”, he informed.

At Pulwama, the event was held at District Police Lines, Pulwama in which Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Mohammad Dar after unfurling the national flag took the salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards, NCC cadets and school children.

Various colourful cultural programmes were also presented on the occasion.

At Budgam, the full dress rehearsal was held at Sports Stadium, Budgam, where Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Harun Malik hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards, NCC and school children.

Cultural programmes including traditional folk songs were also presented on the occasion.

Among others, SSP Budgam and officers of district administration and others were also present on the occasion.

At Ganderbal, a full dress rehearsal for Republic Day celebrations was held at Madri Meharban Stadium, in which Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, unfurled the tricolour and took the salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented on the occasion.

Officers from civil administration, police, army and senior citizens also attended the function.

At Baramulla a full dress rehearsal for the Republic-day function was held at District Police Lines Baramulla, where Deputy Commissioner, Dr Nassir Ahmad Naqash unfurled the tri-colour. He also inspected the parade and took the salute at the march-past presented by the contingents of JKP, IRP, JKAP, Home Guard, CRPF, NCC and School Children.

SSP, Baramulla, Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Senior Officers from Civil Administration, Police, Army and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.

Similar functions were held at Sub-district and Tehsil headquarters of the district, where concerned Sub-District Magistrates and Tehsildars inspected the programmers.

At Kupwara, a full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines, Kupwara, where Deputy Commissioner, Khalid Jahangir took salute at the march past.

On the occasion, various cultural programmes were also presented by the school children.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, SSP and other concerned were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, similar function was held at Handwara and Tangdar where Tehsildar Handwara and SDM unfurled the tri-colour respectively.

At Shopian, Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz unfurled the tricolour during full dress rehearsal event. He took the salute at the march past by the contingents of JKP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented on the occasion.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Senior Superintendent of Police, besides officers from the district administration and other departments were also present on the occasion.

AT BANDIPORA, a full dress rehearsal  was held at S.K. Sports Stadium., where Deputy Commissioner, Sajad Hussain  took salute at  the march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, NCC and the school children.

Among others, SSP ADC, ACR, and Officers from civil administration, police, army, besides senior citizens were present on the occasion.

Similarly, at Anantnag, Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Younis Malik, hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the parade held at Government Degree College, Khanabal.

The contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, District Ladies Police, Auxiliary Police, Fire & Emergency Services, NCC cadets and school children participated in the parades.

On the occasion, cultural programmes were also presented by school children.

DIG South Kashmir, SSP, ADC besides officers from Civil administration and Police were also present during  programme.

At Kulgam, the full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines Kulgam where Deputy Commissioner, Talat Parvez Rohella unfurled the national flag and took the salute at the parade.

Among others present on the occasion were SSP Kulgam, ADC, ACR and other district officers.

Meanwhile, in Kargil, the full dress rehearsal programmes were held in various parts of the district. The main function was held at Khari Sultan Chu Sports Stadium in which Deputy Commissioner unfurled the tricolour and took the salute at march past presented by JKP, NCC cadets, and school children.

SSP Kargil, ADC, officers of civil administration and police, besides large number of citizens were present on the occasion.

At Leh, a colourful full-dress rehearsal for  Republic Day celebrations 2018 was held at Polo-ground Leh today. The Deputy Commissioner, Leh  Avny Lavasa took the salute at an impressive parade. Personnel from the armed forces and schoolchildren participated in the event. Cultural programmes were also presented on the occasion by the school children.

SSP, Leh Sargou Shukla, ADC Leh, Moses Kunzang and other government officials were also present on the occasion.

Likewise, full-dress rehearsal for the Republic Day celebrations was also conducted at Nubra- Diskit, Nyoma and Khalsi Sub Divisions. At Khaltsi Dr. Stanzin Kesar Block Veterinary Officer Khaltsi took the salute on March past while at Nyoma SHO Nyoma, Inspector S.W Namgial took the salute at the national flag.
