JAMMU, Mar 11: Minister for CAPD and Transport Ch Ramzan has said that 554 posts of Storekeepers/ ASKs and Senior Assistants are lying vacant in the CAPD Department in the State and many posts were held by even Class IV- employees.
Replying to a question of Sheikh Ghulam Rasool Pardesi in the Legislative Council today, the Minister said that out of the total 554, 447 posts of SKs/ ASKs/SAs were lying vacant in Kashmir while 107 in Jammu division. 107 posts of promotion quota are lying unfilled in Jammu while 273 in Kashmir region. In Kashmir, the direct quota posts are 174, he added.
Mr Ramzan further claimed that 132 vacancies of ASKs/ SKs of Kashmir Division (DQ) have been referred to SSRB and 34 more are being referred shortly. Promotional quota vacancies will be filled up as and when the seniority list is released by the department after settling dispute. He however, claimed that there was no proposal of shifting surplus staff from Corporations to the CAPD. B A Veeri from NC and Asgar Ali from PDP also raised supplementaries.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for School and Medical Education Feroz Ahmed Khan said that 1260 vacancies of various cadre/ categories were lying vacant in Education Department in district Rajouri.
Replying to a question of Congress member Ravinder Sharma in the Legislative Council, Mr Khan said 578 posts of teachers, 244 posts of lecturers, 137 of Masters, 78 Junior Assistants, 41 Lab Assistants, 22 Lib Assistants, one CEO, 5 Principals, 2 ZEOs, 6 Headmasters, 6 SAs, 14 Librarians and 114 of Class IV employees were lying vacant in Education Department in district Rajouri. He claimed that 519 posts have been referred to various recruiting agencies. The member asked what mechanism is being adopted to make schools, labs functional. For how long the children will be allowed to suffer for want of much needed staff. The Minister said internal arrangement is made to make the system functional.
