53 kg bukki recovered, 3 held

POONCH, July 2: Surankote police recovered 53 kg bukki and arrested three smugglers in this connection.
Report said SHO Surankote Anil Sharma under supervision of DySP Surankote Krishan Singh laid a naka at Poshana on Mughal Road and during checking intercepted trucks No. PBO8CX/ 8032 , PB10CV/ 8535 and PB13X 9382 which were on its way from Kashmir to Punjab.
During search of the vehicles, the police recovered polythene bags filled with Poppy Straw (Bhukki), weighing about 53 Kilograms from three accused persons namely Mohd Zahid, son of Mohd Tahir from Malerkotla , District Sangroor in Punjab; Mohd Alyas son of Mohd Rashid from Melerkotla in Sangroor and Surinder Pal Singh son of Jarnal Singh from Sidhwan Khurd Tehsil Jagraion Distt Ludhiana Punjab. The vehicles were also seized.
In this connection case FIR No. 164 /19, 165/19 and 166/19 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stand registered against the accused persons at Police Station, Surankote.
