BRO chief visits Ladakh, inspects strategic roads

SRINAGAR: Director General of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Lt General S K Shrivastava is on a visit to Ladakh area of Jammu and Kashmir for inspecting the strategic roads in the backdrop of India-China stand off in Sikkim region.

“As the diplomatic relations between India and China have flared up over Doklam in Sikkim, Director General Border Roads Organisation visited Ladakh to inspect the strategic roads in the region,” a statement issued by BRO said.

Lt Gen S K Shrivastava is on a visit to Ladakh to take stock of the construction activities of the various strategic road network maintained and constructed by the Project Himank, the statement read.

The director general arrived in Ladakh on July 18 and on the first day he undertook a detailed inspection of seven operationally, strategically and administratively critical roads spanning a length of approximately 650 km in Eastern Ladakh region, it said. (AGENCIES)
