SRINAGAR: Despite tension on the Line of Control (LoC) following ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops almost daily in Jammu region, highest number of 60 people from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here today while four Kashmiris crossed over to the other side in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
However, the weekly cross-LoC bus service between Poonch in Jammu region and Rawalakote in PoK was suspended today.
As many as 19 people returned to the other side of the LoC this evening at the Kaman Post in Uri sector, official sources said.
They said 60 PoK residents, including 22 women and as many children, arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu peace bridge, on foot. This was the highest number of PoK guests during this year so far. The number of guests coming from PoK goes up during summers. (AGENCIES)
