JAMMU: A fresh batch of 4411 Shri Amarnath pilgrims today left from Yatri Niwas base camp, for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir.
“Total 4,411 pilgrims left this morning in a cavalcade of 140 vehicles,” an official here said.
He said the devotees, including 763 females and 332 Sadhus, left for Pahalgam and Baltal to perform the pilgrimage in 140 vehicles, including buses and light motor vehicles.
The Yatra is smoothly heading on Jammu-Srinagar national highway. It remained suspended yesterday from here due to situation in Kashmir, in view of self-styled Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani’s first death anniversary. (AGENCIES)
