A woman was killed after she was caught in an exchange of fire during an operation amid an encounter between security forces and militants in Anantnag district of the state. The militants were using civilians a human shields, Rescue operations are underway.

Search operations were initiated in Dailgam village in the district after security forces received information that two militants were hiding in the area including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander. The village was later cordoned off. There is no information yet on the status of the militants. (Agencies)
