LONDON, June 14: Director Chad Stahelski says he hopes he was as good as filmmaker James Cameron when it comes to creating sequels.
The 48-year-old filmmaker, whose directed the second instalment of Keanu Reeves-starrer “John Wick” franchise, says he aspired to create the sequel to the 2014 film like the “Avatar” director, reported The Independent.
“In method only, probably James Cameron as he’s a genius on how he handled ‘Aliens’. Rather than duplicate Ridley Scott, he goes ‘Ok, I’m going to make it a new genre. That was a sci-fi thriller, this will be sci-fi action.’
“He paid great tribute to the original, but made the second one his own by expanding the world and keeping the threat very close to the first movie. I wish I was as good as Mr Cameron,” says Stahelski.
The director is currently working on the third “John Wick” film. (PTI)
