SRINAGAR : At two killed and four soldiers were injured when militants attacked an Army convoy on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in south Kashmir today, official sources said here.
They said the militants resorted to indiscriminate firing on an Army convoy at Qazigund on the highway.
Security forces and Road Opening Party (ROP) in the area also retaliated ensuing an encounter.
Six soldiers travelling in the vehicle were injured and rushed to hospital.
Additional security forces have been rushed from nearby camps and a massive search operation launched to nab the militants.
Traffic on the highway has been stopped as a precautionary measure, the sources added. (agencies)
