Jammu, Dec 22: Jammu Vascular Society in association with department of CTVS GMC Jammu today organized a day long CME program in Endovascular interventions here. The CME programme was a curtain raiser for the forthcoming Silver Jubilee annual meeting of Vascular society of India to be organized in October 2018 jointly by Jammu Vascular Society and Department of CTVS GMC Jammu.
The Highlight of todays CME programme was a morning workshop in advanced endovascular internentions at superspeciality hospital in which five difficult cases were done jointly by visiting faculty from SRGH new Delhi along with GMC Jammu team comprising of Dr Sushil Sharma, Dr Arvind Kohli, Dr I Amir and team of vascular surgery, cardiology and CTV Anesthesia.
The faculty from Sir Gangaram Hospital New Delhi included Dr Ajay Yadav, Senior Consultant Vascular Surgeon along with Dr Dhruv Aggarwal Consultant Vascular surgeon. They interacted in the evening with the delegates regarding current concepts in management of various vascular ailments like deep vein thrombosis and recent advances in endovascular interventions.
Prominent local faculty included Dr Mohan Lal, Dr Gurjit Singh, Dr S K Bali, Dr Noor Ali, Dr Sushil Sharma, Dr Rahul Gupta along with other members of the VSICON2018 organizing team.
Convenor of Jammu Vascular Society and Organizing Secretary of VSICON2018 Dr Arvind Kohli said that the VSICON2018 shall be held from October 3 to 6, 2018. The theme of the conference is: mastering the commons Exapnding the horizons in endovascular interventions: and shall have around 400 delegates, both international and national.
Meeting shall have joint sessions with European Society of Vascular Surgery and C 3 from USA regarding the latest management of vascular ailments happening around the world.
Keeping in view the alarming rise in incidence of vascular disease in Jammu region, elevation of endovascular facilities at Jammu is need of the day and for this VSI meeting shall be of great use in discussing the latest for controlling and managing these Vascular problems such as Aortic Aneurysms, Deep Vein thrombosis, Occlusive diseases of peripheral arteries, Carotid interventions and Vascular access for dialysis the added.
