5 quintal heroin recovered by ANTF, smuggler arrested

SAMBA, Dec 1: A team of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu led by Inspector, Meenu Sharma, on the basis of specific information, set up a special naka near Shah Blore village on Samba Mansar road under Samba Police Station (PS).
The team arrested a smuggler with a consignment of Bhukki weighing around five quintals and 50 kgs. Meenu Sharma said that during the naka, a truck bearing Registration Number JK 21-4771 was stopped for checking. It was loaded with apple boxes. Seeing the police team the driver became panicky. The police team removed the apple boxes from the top of the truck and found 22 plastic bags filled with husk. The police team seized it and arrested the driver on the spot. The accused has been identified as Angrej Singh, son of Khemraj resident of Panchari, Udhampur.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force team seized the truck and registered a case against the accused and started further action.
