RAMBAN, Jan 22: Five persons received injuries when the vehicle they were traveling in collided head-on with another vehicle near Shabanbass area, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal police station.
As per police sources, a Tavera car bearing registration number JK3B-9850 on its way from Railway Station Banihal to Jammu collided head-on with a truck bearing registration number JK05A-8346 near Shabanbass area, resulting into injuries to five persons passengers traveling in the car.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, from where two injured were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Jivan Singh (30), son of Puran Singh of Udhampur, Majid Ahmed (25), son of Mohammad Jameel Gania of Sopore, Tariq Ahmed (26), son of Bashir Ahmed of Lalpura Lolab Kupwara, Showket Ahmed (21), son of Kuzar Mohammad Dar of Kupwara. The identity of the injured driver was yet to be ascertained.
A case in this regard has been registered and investigation started.
