SAMBA Nov 6: In a major breakthrough, district police Samba has arrested five drug peddlers and recovered 1347 Intoxicant Capsules (Parvon-Spas) and 45 Intoxicant Tablets (Nitravet) from their possession in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of P/S Ghagwal & Samba today.
Acting on tip off, a police party of P/S Ghagwal headed by SHO, P/S Ghagwal, Inspector, Sudhir Sadhotra under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters Samba, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj immediately swung into action and intercepted a red colour Splendour bike without Registration Number which was coming from Kathua side at Naka NHW Tapyal.
During frisking of motor cyclist and other two pillion riders, a total of 1250 intoxicant capsules (Parvon-Spas) and 45 intoxicant tablets (Nitravet) were recovered from their possession.
The accused persons identified as Surjeet Singh @ Sanju, S/o Dalbir Singh R/o Gurha Slathia A/P Parliawand, Kathua , Badal Singh, S/o Sukhdev Singh, R/o Samba Nikhil Singh, S/o Rajesh Singh, R/o Kehli Mandi Samba have been arrested and the contraband items were also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 99/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stand registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
In another similar incident, a police party of Police Station, Samba headed by SI Mohan Lal under the supervision of SHO, Inspector, Shiv Dev Singh & Dy.SP Hqrs. Samba, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj while performing patrolling duty in Mansar Road near Shah Balode area intercepted two persons who were moving under suspicious circumstances. During frisking of the said persons, a total of 97 Intoxicant Capsules (Parvon-Spas) were recovered from their possession.
The accused persons identified as Rakesh Kumar, S/o Om Parkash, R/o Nagrota, Utter-Behni & Aman Sambyal S/o Kuldeep Singh R/o Dhansala Mandi, Samba have been arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 237/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Samba and investigation started.
