Srinagar, Dec 5: Five Valley districts are set to undergo Sub-National Certification (SNC) as part of the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), the Director of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) was informed today.
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather received a briefing during a meeting held in this regard at the State Tuberculosis Cell, Kashmir, located on the premises of the Chest Disease Hospital.
The State TB Officer provided a detailed explanation of the SNC process to DHSK, noting that five districts—Srinagar, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Baramulla, and Bandipora—will submit SNC claims this year.
“Expectations are for these districts to upgrade their SNC status accordingly,” he was told.
Chaired by Dr. Rather, the meeting also included a review of the achievements of the NTEP in Kashmir Division.
Attendees included State TB Officer Dr. Adhfar Yaseen, STC staff, Director STDC Dr. Shugufta Shaheen, and all District Tuberculosis Officers of Kashmir Division with their staff.
Dr Rather also visited the Intermediate Reference Lab of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme to assess the ongoing civil works for the Liquid Culture lab.
