Srinagar, Oct 7: Kashmir reported five more COVID-19 deaths today taking death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1284 while 361 people tested positive in Valley taking the number of cases in J&K to 81097.
Among others who died in Valley include a 45-year-old man from Pulwama and a 70-year-old from Meeraq Shah Abad Shalimar in Srinagar.
The man from Pulwama was admitted on October 6 at hospital here and died today.
The Shalimar man died at SMHS hospital, five days after he was admitted with bilateral community acquired pneumonia.
With these deaths, 1884 people have succumbed to the disease in Jammu and Kashmir so far including 884 from the Valley.
Srinagar district with 310 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 126, Budgam 88, Pulwama 73, Kupwara 71, Anantnag 69, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 40, Shopian 32 and Ganderbal 30.
And in Kashmir 361 people tested positive today for Coronavirus taking the number of cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 81097.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir include 143 from Srinagar, Budgam 51, Baramulla 50, Pulwama 25, Kupwara 18, Anantnag 20, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 22, Kulgam 5 and Shopian 12.
An official said that Srinagar has 15978 positive cases with 1723 active, 13945 recovered, 310 deaths; Baramulla has 4690 positive cases with 1407 active, 3157 recovered, 126 deaths; Pulwama reported 4147 positive cases with 366 active positive cases, 3709 recovered, 72 deaths; Kulgam has 2310 positive cases with 91 active, 2176 recoveries, 43 deaths; Shopian has 2075 positive cases with 160 active, 1883 recovered, 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3686 positive cases with 314 active, 3303 recovered, 69 deaths; Budgam has 5211 positive cases with 766 active and 4357 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 3812 positive cases with 666 active, 3076 recovered, 70 deaths; Bandipora has 3628 positive cases with 405 active, 3183 recovered, 40 deaths and Ganderbal has 3051 positive cases with 257 active positive cases, 2764 recoveries and 30 deaths.
Moreover, 2188 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 559 from Kashmir division.
And out of 81097 positive cases, 12131 are active, 67684 have recovered and 1282 died including 880 in Kashmir division.
