2 +ve women die in mishap

Srinagar, Sept 26: Five people died in Kashmir due to COVID-19 taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1128 and Valley reported 497 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of positive cases in J&K to 71049.
Five deaths from the Valley, include two from Bandipora and one each from Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam districts.
Among those who died in Valley include a 78-year-old man Duderhama Ganderbal who succumbed to the virus at SKIMS Soura. He was admitted on September 18 and died today.
A 55-year-old man from Awantabhawan Srinagar also died at SKIMS Soura, five days after he was admitted there. He was suffering from COVID Pneumonia with Sepsis with septic shock and had COD cardiopulmonary arrest.
Kashmir today reported 497 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of positive cases in J&K to 71049.
An official said that among today’s positive cases, Srinagar reported 180, Budgam 47, Baramulla 46, Pulwama 58, Anantnag 28, Bandipora 19, Kupwara 73, Ganderbal 26, Kulgam 15 and Shopian 5.
An official said that Srinagar has 14204 positive cases with 2158 active, 11761 recovered, 285 deaths; Baramulla has 4215 positive cases with 1243 active, 2851 recovered, 121 deaths; Pulwama reported 3817 positive cases with 482 active cases, 3268 recovered, 67 deaths; Kulgam has 2244 positive cases with 135 active, 2066 recoveries, 43 deaths; Shopian has 2000 positive cases with 184 active, 1785 recovered, 31 deaths; Anantnag district has 3444 positive cases with 428 active, 2954 recovered, 62 deaths; Budgam has 4703 positive cases with 1174 active and 3448 recovered, 81 deaths; Kupwara has 3450 positive cases with 808 active, 2577 recovered, 65 deaths; Bandipora has 3319 positive cases with 678 active, 2605 recovered, 36 deaths and Ganderbal has 2819 positive cases with 566 active cases, 2225 recoveries and 28 deaths.
An official said that out of 71049 positive cases, 18430 are active, 51494 have recovered and 1125 have died; including 819 in Kashmir division.
He said that out of 1539284 samples which were processed, 1468235 tested as negative and over 71, 049 tested positive.
Moreover, 783 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in Kashmir Division.
Meanwhile, two sisters were killed and two others injured in a road accident when an ambulance turned turtle near Nipora Mir Bazaar area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district last evening.
An Ambulance on way from Jammu towards Srinagar bearing No. PB 02 BY 1387 driven by Umer Jehangir son of Mohammad Jehangir, resident of Dangyar Jammu carrying two ladies (COVID Patients) Haji Maryam Sheikh and Zareena Shiekh daughters of Ghulam Mohammad Shiekh, resident of Sangra Bata Kishtwar turned turtle at Nipora stop due to the over speed.
Both the women died on the spot. Driver and one more person Arfan Khan son of Mohammad Sadiq, resident of Poonch were also injured.
