5-day Residential Master Trainers’ training begins

LEH, Nov 26: To train selected teachers of Leh for imparting further comprehensive trainings to the teachers of Leh district in the winter vocation, a 5-day Residential Master Trainers Training begins at LEDeG (Ladakh Ecological Development Group) Training Centre, Ribook, Leh today.
The State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Yasha Mudgal, IAS, highlighting the purpose of the workshop, after the inaugurating the training said that through such workshops they want to work out better opportunities in terms of teacher education and to bring improvement and quality education and make schools of Ladakh a model to replicate in other States of the country.
While, stressing on motivating the teachers who are the most important factor for success in educational sector, Mudgal said that this workshop is a resource level teacher training with main focus on teacher training of mid level manager, that is, master at primary level and head teacher at secondary level.
Emphasising on qualitative education than quantitative education which has now also become the main focus of Central Government, Mudgal advocated that schools should not work to make children literate but to educate them and teachers need to mobilise the parents of the students, community and public representatives.
Principal DIET, Leh Konchok Angmo, Deputy CEO, Leh Tsewang Dorjey, Resource Persons and master trainee teachers were present on the occasion.
