JAMMU, Dec 1: Jammu and Kashmir today reported eight Corona fatalities including five in Jammu region and three in Valley while 454 persons tested positive for the virus and 503 others recovered.
In Jammu region, two Corona casualties each were reported from Jammu and Kathua districts and one from Udhampur.
A 52-year-old man from Karan Bagh in Jammu district died of COVID-19 in Cheema Medical Complex Mohali where he was undergoing treatment while 86-year-old man from Trikuta Nagar died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh told the Excelsior.
Two persons from Rajwalta and Ramkote villages of Billawar tehsil in Kathua district aged 35 and 49 years respectively succumbed to the virus in the GMC Jammu while 80-year-old man from Shiv Nagar Udhampur died of co-morbidities and Coronavirus in the GMC Jammu.
Among three Corona deaths in Kashmir, two were reported from Srinagar and one from Anantnag.
Four members of a doctor family from Krishna Nagar, four of family in Rehari and three each from Muthi and Gandhi Nagar and four from Mannat Industry Kathua today tested positive for COVID-19.
Among 217 positive cases in Jammu region, 95 were reported from Jammu and 25 each in Rajouri and Udhampur while out of 230, who recovered from the virus today, 78 hailed from Udhampur and 60 Jammu.
Jammu region now has 44606 Corona cases. Of them, 2315 are active positives while 41696 have recovered from the virus. There have been 595 casualties in the region.
In Kashmir, Srinagar district with 418 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 163, Budgam 101, Pulwama 86, Kupwara 83, Anantnag 79, Bandipora 51, Kulgam 51, Ganderbal 38 and Shopian 37.
In Kashmir, 237 tested people positive in Valley taking the overall of positive cases in J&K to 110678.
Srinagar reported 118, Baramulla 18, Budgam 45, Pulwama 9, Kupwara 10, Anantnag 10, Bandipora 13, Ganderbal 6, Kulgam 3 and Shopian 5.
Srinagar has now 23177 positive cases with 1119 active, 21640 recovered, 418 deaths; Baramulla has 7473 positive cases with 282 active, 7028 recovered, 163 deaths; Pulwama reported 5118 positive cases with 146 active cases, 4886 recovered, 86 deaths; Kulgam has 2596 positive cases with 55 active, 2490 recoveries, 51 deaths; Shopian has 2353 positive cases with 79 active, 2237 recovered and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4563 positive cases with 122 active, 4362 recovered, 79 deaths; Budgam has 6940 positive cases with 248 active and 6591 recovered, 101 deaths; Kupwara has 5208 positive cases with 223 active, 4902 recovered, 83 deaths; Bandipora has 4431 positive cases with 131 active, 4249 recovered, 51 deaths and Ganderbal has 4213 positive cases with 188 active cases, 3987recoveries and 38 deaths.
