5 cops hurt in militant attacks

Srinagar, June 11: Five police personnel were injured in two separate militant attacks in Kashmir valley today.
Militants fired upon a policeman outside his camp in South Kashmir’s Shopian district today, leaving him injured.
Militants this afternoon fired at the camp of Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police at Imam Sahib area of Shopian district.
Special Police Officer (SPO) Khursheed Ahmad was injured in the attack and was rushed to the sub-district hospital. Police have launched a hunt to nab the attackers.

In the meantime, four policemen were injured after militants hurled a grenade at their bunker in Saraf Kadal area of downtown Srinagar tonight.
Police said that the attack took place at around 10: 25 pm on a bunker. The injured have been identified as Nazir Ahmad, Constable Tariq Ahmad and Selection Grade Constable Farooq Ahmad of Police Post Urdu Bazar and Sub Inspector Vikas Panday of CRPF. They have been removed to hospital.
