5 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Apr 8: Five bovines rescued, two bovine smugglers arrested
Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Kainthgali naka point in Panchari and rescued five bovines besides two smugglers, here today.
A team of Police Station Panchari intercepted one vehicle (Tata Mobile) bearing registration number JK14B-8927 at the naka point. During checking, five bovines were found laden inside the vehicle in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Driver of the vehicle namely Mulkh Raj, son of Panjabu of Jakhar and Mohd. Ashraf son of Kaamal Din of Gandala, Udhampur were arrested on the spot.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place. In this regard, case FIR number 13/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Panchari.
