JAMMU, Jan 24: Police arrested five persons along with Rs 6200 stake money and playing cards from a hotel.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team conducted raid in the room of Mughal Hotel and arrested five gamblers along with Rs 6200 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Javed Iqbal, son of Ghulam Mohammad and Abdul Latif, son of Mohammad Sunder, both residents of Bhatindi, Mohammad Iqbal, son of Abdul Aziz of Gujjar Nagar, Bashir Ahmed, son of Gulam Mohammad of District Kishtwar and Tarsem Lal, son of Sardari Lal of Shaheedi Chowk.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered against the accused at police station Peer Mitha and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Peer Mitha police station Inspector Javed Malik and Incharge Gujjar Nagar police post SI Mohammad Rashid made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Perbeet Singh Parihar, SP City Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
