SRINAGAR, July 7: Police Headquarters (PHQ) has ordered absorption of 493 SPOs as Constables and Followers in Jammu and Kashmir Police. Director General of Police K. Rajendra Kumar has congratulated the promoted personnel and asked to perform with renewed zeal.
Giving details, Rajendra said that absorption orders have been issued on the recommendations of Police Establishment Board (PEB) in recognition to their contribution in saving life and property of the people. He said that the SPOs demonstrated great valour and courage while safeguarding the people at different places in the State. Among the absorbed SPOs, 205 are promoted as constable and 288 as followers on the basis of their merit which include 15 constable and 5 followers under sports category.
Congratulating the SPOs on their absorption, Mr Rajendra has said that they have been rubbing their shoulders with regular police personnel for years and have performed in different fields of policing. He said that SPOs are playing an important role in maintaining peace and order in the State, ensuring dignity and honour of the people. He has stressed them to brace up in public service with renewed zeal and dedication as regular members of Police Parivar, maintaining high standards of discipline.
