KATHUA, Dec 17: During routine checking staff of Anti Polythene Check Post Lakhanpur also entrusted with checking of Forest Produce and Willow, led by Munish Gupta Range Forest Officer seized 474nos./ 14 Nags of Semi-finished Cricket Bats/Willow in camouflaged manner coming from Bejbehara Awantipora and destined to Jalandhar (Punjab).
The consignment of Semi-finished cricket Bats/ Willow is seized as per sections 2(b), 3, 4(1) and 4(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Willow (Prohibition on Export and Movement) Act, 2000 read with sections 2(4)(a), 41 and 52 of the Indian Forest Act, 1927.
The operation was carried out under the close supervision of Rahul Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Kathua.
