REASI, June 21: Foiling two separate attempts of bovine smuggling, Reasi Police today rescued 46 animals and arrested three smugglers.
Under the supervision of Inspector Mohd Tariq, SHO P/S Mahore, Police laid a naka at Dandhyala Khour and rescued 39 bovine animals from the possession of Bilal Ahmed of village Sildhar, Mahore and Nazir Ahmed of Jamaslan Mahore.
The accused persons were carrying these bovine animals without any legal documents. They intended to smuggle these bovine animals to Kashmir. Police arrested both the accused persons and register a case FIR No.40/2017 U/S 188 RPC, in this connection at P/S Mahore.
Meanwhile, acting on specific information, a police team headed by SI Gurvinder Singh, SHO P/S Chassana, laid a naka at Sungri and rescued seven bovine animals from the possession of Billu, son of Ilam Din of village Channa Neosi, tehsil Chassana. The accused person was carrying these bovine animals towards Kashmir without any legal permission for the same.
The accused person has been arrested. In this connection case FIR No. 32/2017 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at P/S Chassana.
