JAMMU, June 17: Continuing its drive against smuggling of narcotic and psychotropic substances, Udhampur Police today seized 45 kgs of poppy straw and arrested the accused.
The poppy straw was being from Kashmir in a truck (PB13AF-7270), which was intercepted at Jakhani by a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Vijay Singh Choudhary.
Police seized the poppy straw as well as the truck and arrested the driver, who was identified as Mohd Aslam, son of Babu of Jamalpur, Punjab.
A Case FIR number 258/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at PS Udhampur.
