437 docs to be employed shortly: Bali

KATHUA, Dec 23:  Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today visited CHC Bani during the second day of his district Kathua tour and took first-hand information about its functioning and quality of healthcare services made available to the patients.
Pertinently, CHC Bani is the prime health care institution catering to the needs of people living in far flung, hilly and remotest area of Kathua district.
Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Gurjit Singh, CMO Dr. Ashok Choudhary, SDM Bani Ajeet Singh, SDPO Basohli Sunil Singh, BMO Basohli Dr. Neeraj Nagpal, BMO Bani Dr. Mohammad Farid were also accompanying the Minister.
The Minister carried out a comprehensive visit of the OPD, IPD blocks, casualty and general ward and interacted with the patients, doctors and paramedics.
He directed for ensuring availability of quality services and providing of such medicines, injectibles, etc to the patients, as are to be provided free of cost by the Health Department.
Bali Bhagat also took review of health sector of Basohli and Bani at CHC Bani and informed that DPR for new building of CHC costing Rs 3 crores & Rs 8 lakh has been prepared besides a Gynecologist will soon join at CHC Bani.
He also stated that 437 Doctors will soon be employed and their services will be utilized at far flung areas like Bani thus realizing the dream of present dispensation of providing affordable and better health care facilities to the people.
The Minister asked Director Health Services Jammu to give preference to local Doctors while posting them in various health institutions so that they can provide better health services when placed locally. He also sanctioned an ambulance for CHC Bani worth Rs. 14 lakhs.
Demand for Sub Centre at village Bhandhara and PHC at village Dhaggar were also raised before the Minister besides a request for dedicated transformer of 25 KW was also made for the proper functioning of ultrasound machine.
After listening to various demands, the Minister assured for their early redressal. Earlier, the Minister also paid a surprise visit at DH Kathua and directed Director Health Services Jammu to immediately renovate the Emergency Ward by releasing the sanctioned amount.
