NEW DELHI : The Supreme Court today directed the real estate major Parsvnath developers private limited, to refund an amount of Rs 22 crore to 70 flat buyers for not handing over the possession of their flats on time in the National Capital Region (NCR).
A division bench of the Apex Court, headed by Justice Dipak Misra, after hearing the flat owners’ plea directed the Parsvnath developers to make the refund.
“We direct the real estate company, Parsvnath developers, to refund Rs 22 crore to 70 flat buyers,” the SC said, in its order.
The real estate major had already deposited an amount of Rs 12 crore to its investors and flat owners and Rs 10 crore more to be deposited bu it on or before December 10.
The apex court said, ”We would later decide on how much interest to be be paid to the flat owners (investors) by the real estate company.”
On earlier occasions also, the court had expressed its strongest displeasure over the way the real estate company had not handed over the flats on time to its owners.
The flat owners had approached the apex court and sought its intervention and a direction to the real estate major after not getting their flats in time. (AGENCIES)
