POONCH, Jan 3: Deputy Commissioner Food Safety Jammu, Pankaj Soni along with his team inspects markets of Poonch and Mandi and challaned 40 shops, imposing Rs 58,000 fine on the defaulters.
Official sources said that Food Safety Organisation team along with Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Hqrs Jammu Ajeet Singh, Food Safety Officer Mandi- Poonch, Zaffer Iqbal and FSO Surankote Mendhar Mohd Rayees inspected Poonch market. During the drive, 18 shops were challaned, and fine of Rs 26000 was collected, while 22 shops were challaned in Mandi today and a fine of Rs 32000 for insanitary conditions of food items, shops running without license and selling expire items was collected.
FSO Javid Iqbal said that organization has MFT vehicle along with testing facility. The suspected samples are taken on the spot and if fail, we lift legal samples for Jammu laboratory. Many samples taken on the spot in Poonch and Mandi were passed on the spot while four samples in Mandi resulted negative which were lifted for Jammu laboratory for for the purpose of testing, he added.
