40 bags ration seized, 2 held

SAMBA, May 24: The police seized 40 bags of CAPD ration while it was being off loaded at a mill in Ghagwal area of district Samba today and arrested two persons in this connection including a ration dealer hailing from village Jatwal.
SSP Samba Joginder Singh said that acting on a specific information a police party from Ghagwal raided the premises of rice/ atta mill belonging to one Satpal and seized the vehicle along with CAPD ration. This 40 bags atta was meant for the public of Jatwal area. Dealer and driver of mini-truck No. JK-21B/6915 has been arrested and a case FIR No. 33/ 2015 registered against the accused persons.
The police said that Ration dealer Jatwal, Vijay Kumar and driver Sudesh Kumar of the truck have been arrested. The mill owner and some CAPD employees are likely to be arrested during course of investigations.
Minister for CAPD Ch Zulfikar said that TSO Ghagwal Ashish Goswami and Storekeeper concerned have been attached pending inquiry. Dy Director CAPD Jammu Atam Dev Singh has been directed to conduct probe and submit report with in seven days. He said the license of the ration dealer has been suspended and alternate arrangement will be made to ensure supply of ration to that village. Instructions have been given to the Assistant Director, CAPD Samba in this regard, he added.
