RAJOURI, Apr 30: At least 40 Anganwadi Centres under ICDS Project of Social Welfare Department were found locked during surprise checking by the teams on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Aijaz Ahmed Asad in the district.
An official spokesman said that the inspection was carried out under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioners, SDMs Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars.
The inspection started at sharp 10.30 am on Monday and a total 508 centers were inspected, out of which 40 were found closed at the time of inspection.
55 Anganwadi Worker/Helpers were found absent, 85 were shown under deployment and 35 centers were found with insufficient number of enrollment or nutrition.
District Development Commissioner Rajouri has sought the list of the Anganwadi Centres found locked and also list of the absentees to initiate necessary action under rules against them.
