JAMMU, Nov 18: RS Pura, Pouni Chak, Chatha and Chinore Police seized four vehicles involved in illegal mining and 2 illegal dumps of building materials.
As per police sources, teams from Police Post Pouni Chak led by PSI Nitish Khajuria, Police Post Chinore led by PSI Avtar Krishan and Police Post Chatha led by Inspector Rakesh Roshan raided different locations in their respective areas and seized four different vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Meanwhile, two illegal dumps of sand and other building materials were also seized by a police team constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan and led by SHO RS Pura Inspector Jai Pal Sharma along with officers of Department of Geology and Mining.
The dumps seized belonged to Gurmeet Singh, son of Dalip Singh of Kotli Shah Doula RS Pura and Sukhdev Singh, son of Tara Singh of Kirpind.
The mining was being done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
