UDHAMPUR, Oct 22: Four shops and a house were completely gutted in a fire incident at village Drang Sadhota in Panchari Tehsil of Udhampur district about 28 km from Panchari.
Even as there was no loss of life, the shops and house were completely gutted in the fire that broke out during the intervening night of October 21-22. These shops included a general store, clothe shop, cosmetic chop, were owned by Aanchal Singh, son Jeet Singh; Rajinder Singh, son Shamsher Singh; Shamsher Singh- Angrez Singh, sons Rashpal Singh.
The fire tenders could not reach the spot to douse the flames as the area is non-motorable. The real cause of fire could not be ascertained while property worth over Rs 30-40 lakh was lost in the incident. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
