SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-u-Din today paid surprise visit to lift irrigation scheme Uranbuha, Chandanwari Uri, on the complaints of local people.
Mr. Taj found that the pumping station was not functional and the working operational office was locked. He directed the concerned authorities for taking stringent action against erring officials. He issued on spot direction for calling explanation from the Incharge Executive Engineer MID Baramulla, Altaf Ahmad.
Mr. Taj also issued on the spot suspension orders to in-charge Assistant Executive Engineer Fiyaz Ahmad and Junior Engineer Umar Wani and Helper (Operator) Showkat Ahmad and Farooq Ahmad who were absent from duty.
