RAMBAN, Jan 28: Four members of a family were found dead under mysterious circumstances in the snow-covered far-away Balihote village of Ramban today.
Police sources said that initial reports suggest they may have died due to asphyxiation or severe cold, however, the actual cause of death would be ascertained only after the post-mortem of dead bodies
Officials said three members of a family were found dead and one girl was found in unconscious state at their residence in Ward number 6 Balihote, Ramban.

She was evacuated to District Hospital Ramban where doctors pronounced her as brought dead.
Locals of the area noticed that there is no movement in and around the house of Chain Singh for the last few days.
On Saturday morning, they visited the house where they found the door of the house locked from the inside and informed police.
After receiving the call, SHO Police Station Ramban, Sandeep Charak along with cops rushed to the spot, broke the door and entered the Kacha House where they found three family members dead and a girl in unconscious state.
Chief Medical Officer Ramban, Dr. Kamal Zadoo said that the girl who was brought to District Hospital had succumbed in the ambulance.
The other three dead bodies were also shifted to District Hospital Ramban for post-mortem.
Tehsildar Ramban, Mohd Rafiq onfirmed the death of four persons in this incident.
He said some livestock was also found dead in the house where teams of sheep and veterinary experts were also dispatched.
Police identified the deceased family members as Chain Singh, 60, his wife, Shankari Devi, 55, their daughter, Sandesha Devi, 30 and Monika Devi, 35 who was evacuated by the Police in unconscious state and was declared dead on arrival at District Hospital Ramban this afternoon.
Gansham Singh, a close relative of the deceased Chain Singh said the Balihote area is snow-covered. He said it appears that the death had occurred some days back as a foul smell was emanating from the bodies.
