POONCH, Mar 25: The police alongwith Indian Army foiled a narcotics smuggled bid in Balakote area of Mendhar sub division and arrested four persons with seizure of two vehicles and recovered rupees one lakh cash and four kilograms of Narcotics substance from their possession.
During routine checking at Bharwayani gate a team of police alongwith Indian Army intercepted a commercial vehicle and during checking of vehicle, two kilograms of heroine like substance was recovered from Sherbaz Ahmed, Mohd Sarwar from Galhuti in Manjakote accompanied by Mehmood Khan, son of Mohd Aslam from Galhuti in Manjakote. Both the persons were arrested.
Sustained questioning of the accused lead to arrest of two more persons namely – Mohd Inzar Khan, son of Mohd Khan, resident of Dharatti and Rafeeq Azeem Khan. Son of Badal Hussian Khan from Kalar Morha, Mendhar along with 2 kg of heroine and one lakh rupees from their possession.
Police team headed by Incharge Police Post Balakote, PSI Suman, SHO Mendhar Manzoor Kohli and SDPO Mendhar Sheezan Bhat executed the recoveries under the supervision of SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra in close coordination with Army.
