4 hurt during anti-encroachment drive

POONCH, May 12: At least four persons including a councilor were injured during anti-encroachment drive near Fort complex in Poonch city today.
Reports said Poonch Municipality team assisted by Police launched anti-encroachment drive near Fort building complex during the day today. A large mob of vendors/ traders started stone pelting on the team when the illegal structures were being removed with the help of JCB.

DC Poonch Rahul Yadav has constituted a team to investigate into the matter. The PMC officials said that with the raising of illegal structures/ Khokhas etc near Fort, it has created traffic congestion and also damaged the over all look of the beautiful historic fort. They said the traders turned violent and resorted to stone pelting and also protest. The legal action will be initiated against the people who indulged in violence, they said.
