Srinagar, May 20: Police in Budgam today arrested 4 persons and seized 3 vehicles and a JCB involved in the commission of the crime.
Police parties from Police Station Budgam at various checkpoints established in their jurisdiction intercepted 03 tippers loaded with illegally extracted clay Near FCI Chandpora, Patlibagh & Chandpora Crossing respectively, police said.
“The trippers bearing registration numbers JK04-7552, JK01P-3573 and JK01AG-7743 were seized and drivers identified as Younis Ahmad Qazi son of Ghulam Ahmad Qazi resident of Watriwani, Showkat Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Hassan Baba resident of Khadipora and Gulzar Ahmad Beigh son of Abdul Razzak Beigh resident of Khadipora were arrested.”
Similarly, police said, officers from Police Station Beerwah seized a JCB and arrested a driver for illegal extraction of soil at Hardumalpora Beerwah.
“He has been identified as Balvinder Singh son of Kulwant Singh resident of Jungal Bawani Gurdaspur Punjab.”
In this regard, cases under relevant sections of law stand registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
