4 female multipurpose workers on fast unto death, protests continue

KATHUA, July 21: Four female multipurpose workers sat on fast unto death in support of their demands in front of CMO Office here, today.
They were joined by hundreds of female multi purpose workers drawn from different parts of the district who staged a demonstration against the Health Department authorities for their failure in releasing their salaries of past 13 months and anti employees policies of the Department by transferring them to far flung areas.
Raising slogans against the authorities the protestors demanded immediate release of their salaries. The four female multipurpose workers who sat on fast unto death included Sushma Kumari, Surjo Devi, Shublata and Urmila.
Meanwhile in Ramgarh tehsil the female multipurpose workers staged a protest demonstration today against the failure of Health Department authorities in releasing their salaries of last 13 months.
The protestors raising slogans against the Government demanded that their salaries of last 13 months be released at an earliest. They said some of the families are facing acute financial hardships due to non payment of salaries from such a pretty long time.
They warned to intensify agitation in case the salaries were not released at an earliest and Government does not stop its repressive measures against the female multipurpose workers.
The protest demonstrations were also held by PHE Daily wagers at Kathua who also started chain hunger strike from today demanding their immediate regularization.
