4 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, smack, sharp edged weapon

JAMMU, Sept 23: Akhnoor and Nowabad Police arrested four drug peddlers with heroin, smack and sharp edged weapon.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial laid a naka at Punnu Chowk and intercepted a car.
During checking, police team recovered 12 grams heroin, one sharp edged weapon and one baseball bat and arrested three persons travelling in the car.
The arrested persons were identified as Anil Singh, son of Madan Singh of Hamirpur Sidhar Tehsil Khour District Jammu, Rahil Bhagat, son of Kasturi Lal of Bhagwati Nagar District Jammu and Abhi Sharma, son of Vijay Kumar of Talab Tillo District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 248/2021 under Sections 8/21/29 NDPS, 4/25 Indian Arms Act and 184 MV Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria and assisted by Incharge Police Post Talab Tillo Inspector Kali Charan laid a naka and intercepted a scooty.
During checking, police team recovered 5 grams smack from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mahavir Singh, a resident of Gole Gujaral District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 149/2021 under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started
