SRINAGAR, July 22: Four persons drowned today while taking bath at different places in Kashmir.
A spokesman of police said that two boys, Abdul Qayoom Sheikh son of Asadullah Sheikh and Mohammad Altaf Sheikh son of Mohammad Maqbool of Checki-Pohru, drowned in river Jhelum at Baghi Shakoor Shah while taking a bath in Nowgam area of Srinagar. Police said their bodies are yet to be retrieved from the river.
Similarly, Ashiq Husain Ganie, 12, son of Bashir Ahmad of Lalpora, Kupwara, drowned while taking a bath in a water reservoir at Rethnag. His body was fished out.
In another incident of drowning in Kupwara, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, 7, son of Ghulam Hassan of Tangchek was drowned in a water reservoir at Tangchek, Kupwara. Mir’s body was fished out after searching, police said.
