JAMMU, Nov 9: A man died of COVID-19 in Jammu district while four Corona casualties were reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh and 153 persons tested positive for the virus in Jammu region as 179 others recovered today.
A 55-year-old man from Arnia, who was co-morbid and positive for pathogen died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu where he was admitted since November 2.
Two men from Choglamsar aged 78 and 68 and 67-year-old from Tiri succumbed to the virus in Leh district while 76-year-old woman died in Kargil district.
As many as 99 persons today tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu district. They include eight from Akhnoor, four each from RS Pura, Pallanwalla, Marh and Dansal, three Kot Bhalwal, two Bishnah and one in Sohanjana.
Six members of a family from Sidhra including a doctor, four of a family in Sainik Colony and four persons from Trikuta Nagar in Jammu district tested positive for Coronavirus.
Nineteen positive cases were reported from Udhampur district, 10 each Doda and Kishtwar, seven Kathua, three Rajouri, two each Samba and Ramban and one from Poonch district while Reasi district didn’t report any Corona positive case today.
Among 179 persons who recovered from the virus today, 100 belonged to Jammu district, 21 Udhampur, 20 Poonch, 11 Kathua, eight Doda, seven Samba, six Reasi, five Rajouri and one in Ramban district.
With lone Corona casualty in Jammu region, the death toll has gone up to 519 including 270 in Jammu district, 48 each Rajouri and Doda district, 33 Kathua, 32 Udhampur, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 18 Ramban, 15 Kishtwar and eight in Reasi district.
Jammu region now has 39462 Corona cases including 1522 active as 37421 have recovered from the virus while there have been 519 casualties.
With four casualties in the Union Territory of Ladakh, the death toll has reached 84 including 45 in Leh and 39 in Kargil.
Ladakh reported 19 fresh cases—17 in Leh and two Kargil.
There are total of 6809 COVID-19 cases in Ladakh. Of them, 5960 have recovered from the infection.
