4 bovines rescued, vehicle seized

SAMBA, Aug 4: In continuation to its drive against bovines smuggling, district police Samba successfully foiled attempt to smuggle bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba by rescuing four bovines at Madak, Samba.
Acting on reliable information received at Police Post (PP) Supwal regarding smuggling of bovines from district Samba towards Kathua, a police party of PP Supwal laid a naka at Madak, Samba and intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK08E-9033 which was moving towards Kathua district.
During checking of the vehicle, four bovines were found laden inside it without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 204/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Samba and investigation taken up.
