4 bovines rescued, driver held

SAMBA, July 10: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers, Samba Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid after arresting the bovine smuggler and rescuing four cattle in the jurisdiction of PS Samba.
Acting on reliable information, a Police party of Police Station, Samba laid a vehicle checking naka at Mansar Morh, Samba and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing Registration Number JK08F-9028 which was moving towards Kashmir Valley via Samba-Mansar-Udhampur road.
During checking of the vehicle four cattle were found laden inside it without permission. The driver identified as Zakar Hussain, S/o Marid Baksh R/O Manohar Gopalla, Samba has been arrested. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to Gaushala at PS Ghagwal which is being maintained by Samba Police at own resources. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 179/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation taken up.
