SRINAGAR, Aug 20: Acting tough against the persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today seized 4 vehicles and arrested 4 persons in north Kashmir’s Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan, Mohd Nawaz, led by Incharge Police Post, Palhallan seized 2 tractors and arrested their drivers, police said.
They have been identified as Mehraj Uddin Dar son of Abdul Aziz Dar, resident of Poshwari Naidkhai and Fayaz Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Mohd Baba, resident of Loribal Naidkhai at Dargam, Palhallan.
Similarly, the police under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg, Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg seized two Tippers and arrested their drivers identified as Shahid Ahmad Rather, son of Gh Nabi, resident of Gani Baba and Ab Rashid Sheikh, son of Ab Gani resident of Hajibal involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrai Tangmarg.
Accordingly, police said, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective police stations.
